This is a fantastic little booklet. It's fun. It's clear. It answers all the questions about the Bible that you were afraid to ask in case you sounded stupid. And best of all, it will help you to start reading the Bible for yourself. I wish someone had given it to me when I was 10 years old.
A Short Guide to the Bible is the perfect primer to come alongside tweens as they get into God's Word. It's practical, clear, foundational, and engaging, and it wisely counsels kids through aspects of the Bible that may overwhelm them. I cannot wait to give it to my own kids and the kids at my church!
Katy Morgan’s A Short Guide to the Bible is, indeed, short. But that doesn’t mean the reader gets shortchanged. This guide provides 8-12 year olds with all they need to know to read the Bible with understanding, to explore its big story and to apply it to their lives. A handy companion to any Bible!
This is another wonderful resource from Katy Morgan. We have had the privilege of reading and reviewing several of her books and we have loved all of them.
This is not a book but rather a guide to navigating The Book - The Bible. The Bible can be quite intimidating for adults, teens and kids. This short but impactful guide provides several basic foundational stepping stones.
Sections included:
- Where to start with reading the Bible
- A brief summary of the entire Bible
- Historical and literary facts about the Bible
- Verses to fit specific situations
- Short character studies
And much more! My kids and I very much appreciated the graphics included in the guide. It's very engaging for older children who are beginning their journey of independent Bible reading.
This is a handy little book to assist children as they explore the beauties of the Bible.
I received a copy of this book from The Good Book Company in exchange for an honest review.
I am always on the hunt for valuable resources like this booklet! This booklet is a quick guide to Bible basics and navigating the Bible. This is great for Kids who are ready to explore the Bible on their own. Target age is 8+ (only 32 pages). This could be used as an independent workbook or alongside a mentor. I'm going to keep this resource handy! You never know when God is going to place a young believer in your life. This would be great for any volunteer or leader in upper elementary and youth to have in their back pocket.

This book may be small, but has some great background information about the Bible. It teaches children how to look up a Bible verse if they are completely new to the Bible, but it also explains the timeline of the Bible, how we got the Bible, and the genres of the Bible. I definitely recommend this book for an introduction to the Bible for kids.
As your child becomes more independent in their Bible reading, this little book is a great resource to give them. It has historical information & big ideas that they can search for as they read God’s Word. It’s a great little guide to supplement their Biblical understanding!
